Do Not Lose Heart!

"Do not lose heart"! Said my mother as I called her at the normal time in the morning.

"What"? I replied.

"You know, do not lose heart". She responded with a tone in her voice that suggested I should know this concept. After all, it is written in the bible multiple times.  Throughout it in fact (Joshua 1:1-9).  I always thought it was just a phrase like "Praise the Lord" or "PTL". She would sign that on her checks, which she would send when she paid the bills. But why the emphasis on "do not lose heart"? Well, maybe because she was/is called to encourage others not to do that. God tells us not to lose heart because He is in ALL THINGS. Not in some things but in ALL THINGS. We shouldn't have any anxiety over that. Philippians 4:6-9 (a favorite of mine). Anyone can call her, and her heart would be in that mindset. Always. But what about now? Now is different. Society is going through so much. How can you keep your heart when there is so much stuff in the world going on? The COVID pandemic has harbored such chaos in the world. Food shortage, gasoline price increases daily, mass shootings (especially in schools), lack of proper healthcare, natural disasters leaving people homeless, and small businesses closing due to many other financial crises. How can one not lose heart? Simply think about these things. It is not in God's nature for His creations, and children, to be in a position to lose heart. It is not in His nature to let us slip through His hands. Kind of hard when He has the whole world in it. Our Father is before us and behind us, He is on our left and right side, He is our coming and going, our beginning and our end. He will never leave us, nor will He ever forsake us. God is the God of comfort and peace. He is the God of joy and strength (Nehemiah 8:10). So whenever all of those things I mentioned above confuse you and bring you to a place of questioning and doubt, and you can't seem to see the forest from the trees, just know this and hold on to it. "Do not lose heart," God is the God of the possible. (Matthew 19:26).  Here is a song that I found that I feel can touch your heart. I hope this blog post encourages you as it has for me. Oh, and remember "Do not lose heart". If you feel like you can't see that, just call my mother; she will be more than willing to tell you over the phone. God bless you and your day. Till next time.
